Job summary

International Paper in Ashland City, TN is hiring an Assistant Machine Operator to support corrugated press operations. You will assist the operator, monitor performance, feed and stack sheets, and help with setup and safety practices throughout the shift.

This hourly full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED and manufacturing experience. You will work in a hot environment at times and must be able to lift moderately heavy items and stand for the shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; Trade School and/or advanced degree preferred.
• Two years or more experience in a manufacturing setting preferred; corrugated manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to solve problems with minimal assistance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Basic computer skills (data entry) and arithmetic; able to use a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Assist the operator in preparing, maintaining and operating corrugated press machinery.
• Observes and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine adjustments.
• Feeding, catching and stacking corrugated sheets at machine feed and stacking stations.
• Oversee/setup orders including mounting print plates and dies; maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure all orders meet specifications, including any special instructions.
• Other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors; may include parts and hand assembly.
• Safety champion for the crew.
