Job summary

Rowan College at Burlington County is seeking an Assistant Lead Engineer to oversee stationary engineers and HVAC technicians across two campuses, ensuring safe, reliable operation of heating, cooling, and building systems.

This is a Support Staff, Grade G position focused on maintenance planning, GMP compliance, energy management, and strong Building Automation Systems expertise. Leadership and collaboration are essential for campus facilities projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school cert preferred.
• 5 years of stationary engineering/HVAC experience across boilers, chillers, BAS.
• 1–2 years supervising HVAC staff preferred.
• Valid NJ driver’s license and refrigerant certification as required by 40 CFR.

Responsibilities

• Supervise stationary engineers and HVAC technicians across two campuses.
• Train and develop engineering staff; enforce safety and environmental regulations.
• Operate and maintain Building Automation Systems; program for energy balance.
• Develop maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance tasks.
