Job summary

MadTree Brewing is looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the Kitchen Manager in daily operations and leadership. You will mentor a growing team, manage scheduling, and oversee inventory and invoicing to maintain a high standard of culinary service.

Based in Blue Ash, OH, the role requires guiding service, collaborating across departments, and helping deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding MadTree’s values and community focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in fostering a positive, values-driven culture where team members feel supported, engaged, and accountable.
• Develop team members through regular coaching conversations, skill-building opportunities, and clear career pathing discussions
• Foster cross-departmental collaboration with FOH, Private Events, and bar teams to ensure unified service delivery
• Act as the designated person-in-charge of kitchen operations during assigned shifts; supervise food prep and presentation
• Provide a strong presence in the kitchen and on the line; work all kitchen stations
• Lead and guide kitchen team during service to ensure quality, efficiency and standards
• Monitor guest feedback and continuously improve food quality and service
• Collaborate with Private Events to plan and execute catering and special events
• Train and develop team members through onboarding, feedback, and performance management
• Develop standard operating procedures and a training program for kitchen operations
• Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to control costs
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across shifts
• Report equipment and facility issues to Kitchen Manager
• Support seasonal menu changes and event calendar to maintain quality and flow
• Volunteer at MadTree Impact initiatives to engage the team
