Job description

Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, MN is seeking an experienced Assistant Irrigation Technician and Project Manager to manage the course’s irrigation system to support healthy turf conditions.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot the golf course irrigation system, including pumps, valves, heads, and controllers
• Perform routine inspections to ensure optimal water coverage and system efficiency
• Assist with daily watering schedules and adjustments based on turf needs and weather conditions
• Collaborate with the Superintendent and grounds crew to support overall course maintenance
• Operate equipment safely and keep accurate records of repairs and system changes
• Frequent course and grounds inspections for dry and underwatered areas
• Help with general grounds work as needed—everyone pitches in to keep the course in top shape

What We Need

• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems.
• Preferred: Basic understanding of agronomy, turf grass science, and the rules of golf.
• Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.
• Have the ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally. Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp, and use arm-hand coordination consistently.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license with a clean record.
• Comfort with technology and computerized systems.
• Demonstrated field leadership and strong problem-solving skills.
