Job summary

The Moorings Club Inc in Florida is seeking a Golf Course Irrigation Technician responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining the golf course irrigation and grounds systems under supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent. Responsibilities

  • Maintain mechanical and electrical components of golf course irrigation system.
  • Repair equipment associated with irrigation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment associated with irrigation.
  • Maintain complete records on all equipment maintenance associated with irrigation.
  • Control expenses associated with irrigation equipment and activities.
  • Maintain inventory of parts needed for irrigation equipment.
  • Irrigate all grounds as needed.
  • Safely operates equipment such as mowers and pluggers used for various course maintenance needs.
  • Maintain maintenance and fluid use logs (gas and oil) on equipment.
  • Inspect and clean machinery after each use.
  • Report equipment issues to supervisor and/or equipment Manager.
  • Make necessary minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Perform other Golf Course Maintenance tasks such as, but not limited to, tree trimming, watering plants, raking leaves, cutting grass, weeds, and shrubbery.
  • Clean gutters, drains, and culverts.

Description

Responsible for programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course and grounds irrigation system under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Report any irregularities in course turf quality to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

Essential duties and responsibilities: The following job duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain mechanical and electrical components of golf course irrigation system.
  2. Repair equipment associated with irrigation.
  3. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment associated with irrigation.
  4. Maintain complete records on all equipment maintenance associated with irrigation.
  5. Control expenses associated with irrigation equipment and activities.
  6. Maintain inventory of parts needed for irrigation equipment.
  7. Irrigate all grounds as needed.
  8. Safely operates equipment such as mowers and pluggers used for various course maintenance needs.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and cooperative skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and Certificates: Thorough knowledge of golf course irrigation systems, maintenance, and repair. Electrical trouble shooting.
  • Experience: One year irrigation experience required.

  2. Schedule and times are usually set but may vary occasionally.
  3. While performing duties of the job, employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, and reach overhead.
  4. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee is required to regularly kneel or crouch, bend, reach overhead and walk.
  5. Must be able to pull and lift up to (50) pounds.
  6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.

Supervision: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
