Lubbock Country Club is seeking a Grounds Laborer/Irrigation Technician to support daily maintenance of the golf course and related grounds in Lubbock, Texas. The role focuses on efficient water use and healthy turf through irrigation system operation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
Responsibilities include debris removal, divot filling, plant care, irrigation line digging, leak inspections, and controller adjustments.

The Grounds Laborer/Irrigation Technician assists with the daily maintenance and appearance of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position also supports the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the golf course irrigation system to promote efficient water use and healthy turf conditions.
Collects and properly disposes of debris from the golf course and surrounding grounds daily.
Fills divots in fairways and other designated areas as directed.
Assists with the planting, watering, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping.
Digs trenches for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation lines.
Inspects the golf course irrigation system for leaks, damaged sprinkler heads, malfunctioning valves, and other operational issues.
Assists with diagnosing and repairing irrigation pipes, sprinkler heads, valves, wiring, and related components.
Adjusts, levels, cleans, and replaces sprinkler heads as needed.
Operates irrigation controllers and assists with adjusting watering schedules as directed by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
Monitors irrigated areas to identify dry spots, excessive watering, drainage problems, or other turf-related concerns.
Performs routine irrigation system checks to promote proper coverage and efficient water usage.
Maintains irrigation tools, equipment, parts, and supplies in a clean and organized condition.
Documents completed irrigation repairs and reports unresolved system issues to the supervisor.
Paints guardrails and performs other general maintenance duties as directed.
Safely operates hand tools, power tools, utility vehicles, and grounds-maintenance equipment for which the employee has been trained.
Follows all Club safety procedures and properly uses required personal protective equipment.
Performs other related duties as requested by the Supervisor or Manager.
Regularly communicates and works with Grounds Department employees and supervisors. May occasionally interact with Club members, guests, vendors, and contractors in a courteous and professional manner.
