Job summary

Timberholm Inn in Stowe, Vermont, is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Innkeeper for mornings, 2 days per week (Thu & Sun), 7:00 AM–11:00 AM (6:00 AM during ski season). You will prepare breakfast items, maintain the buffet, and greet guests with warmth and professionalism.

Training is provided; this is a part-time role with flexible early shifts. Strong hospitality mindset and ability to communicate about Timberholm and local areas are essential.

Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license and current auto insurance (if applicable).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Present a positive image as the face of Timberholm Inn in the market and community.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive early to prep ingredients and bake/cook high-quality breakfast items for guests.
  • Maintain buffet breakfast selection during service window.
  • Label and communicate allergy/special dietary needs foods clearly.
  • Brew coffee and have hot water available for tea/hot chocolate.
  • Restock coffee/tea stations and keep items replenished for the day ahead.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide high standard hospitality and professionalism.
  • Interact with guests during breakfast and answer basic questions about Timberholm and the area.
  • Coordinate with leadership on special requests or guest concerns.
  • Handle breakfast cleanup, sanitize cookware, wash dishes, and mop/vacuum as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and guest-focused Assistant Innkeeper to create memorable
morning experiences for guests at our 9-room boutique bed and breakfast. This role is ideal for
someone who enjoys the art of breakfast, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and takes
pride in creating seamless, personalized experiences for guests from first contact to their next stay.

Training will be provided, along with ongoing support during the transition and beyond. If you have
a passion for cooking or baking, a keen eye for cleanliness, and a welcoming personality, we would
love to have you join our team.

Days: 2 mornings per week, Thursday & Sunday
Shift Length: 4 hours
Standard Hours: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM, breakfast served at 8:00 am
Ski Season Hours: 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM, breakfast served at 7:00 am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Arrive early to prep ingredients and bake/cook high-quality breakfast items for guests.
  • Lay out and maintain the buffet breakfast selection throughout the service window.
  • Label and communicate allergy/special dietary needs foods clearly.
  • Brew coffee and have hot water available for tea/hot chocolate.
  • Examples of prepared breakfast items include: scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon.
  • Restock coffee and tea stations throughout the morning.
  • Keep fridge items, snacks, and beverage stations fully replenished for the day ahead.
  • Communicate any low-inventory items or kitchen needs to leadership.
  • Greet guests warmly and exhibit a high standard of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Interact with guests during breakfast, answering basic questions about Timberholm and the surrounding areas and making them feel welcome.
  • Address guest inquiries or dietary needs during service with care and professionalism.
  • Coordinate closely with Hannah on any special requests or guest/inn concerns.
  • Resolve minor guest issues and elevate to the leadership team when necessary.
  • Efficiently handle all breakfast cleanup, including washing dishes, sanitizing cookware, and clearing tables.
  • Mop the kitchen floor and thoroughly vacuum the Great Room after service concludes.
  • Ensure all remaining food is properly stored, labeled, and put away according to food safety standards.
  • Coordinate regularly with Hannah/broader team on critical guest and inn related items.
  • Support a positive, communicative, and team-oriented work environment

$25 - $25 an hour

Lodging not include as it is a part time position.
