Job summary

The Goddard School of Wake Forest, NC is seeking an Assistant Infant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs and maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom. You will help foster cognitive, social and physical development while ensuring positive interactions with children and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; NC Early Childhood Credential required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience in licensed childcare or preschool setting required.
• Demonstrates empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children, fostering belonging.
• Communicate with families about child progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
  Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; NC Early Childhood Credential required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting required
  • Shows empathy and compassion for young children
  • Works productively without supervision
  • Basic understanding of child development
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
  • Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
