Job summary

The Child Development Center in Southwest Austin is seeking a Full Time Assistant Infant Teacher to join our loving, energetic team. Start ASAP. We serve infants through Pre-K and offer a supportive, non-profit environment with dedicated education administrators.

We provide low teacher/student ratios, a lead plus two assistants per class, generous holidays, health insurance, vision, dental, and a 401K matching plan. Continued professional growth and paid parental leave are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or CDA preferred.
• Previous infant experience preferred.
• Must meet Texas DFPS requirements and pass background check.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• General computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum (NAEYC standards).
• Assist with assessments, materials, and child skill development.
• Support learning by implementing lesson plans.
• Communicate with families verbally and in writing.
• Build positive relationships with parents and coworkers.
• Model positive behavior for children.

At The Child Development Center, we are searching for a loving, energetic, and dedicated assistant infant teacher to join our team. We are a NAEYC-accredited preschool located in Southwest Austin. As an established non-profit preschool, our primary focus is on children, families, and staff. We serve children infants - Pre-K.

Duties Include

• Collaborating with Lead Teacher to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that follows the standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher regarding assessments, classroom materials, and specific child skill development
• Supporting children’s learning by implementing the lesson plan
• Communicating with families both verbally and in writing
• Building positive relationships with parents and coworkers
• Serve as positive role model for all the children
• Encourage language development through developmentally appropriate activities, songs, questions, books, and other means
• Active engagement with students and participation in classroom activities at all times
• Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment conducive to play-based learning

Qualifications

• Previous infant experience preferred
• Candidates must meet all Texas DFPS requirements and must pass a background check
