Job summary

The Child Development Center in Southwest Austin, a NAEYC-accredited preschool, seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Infant Teacher to join our licensed nonprofit program serving infants through Pre-K. Start ASAP and support a lead teacher in delivering a nurturing, safe learning environment.

We offer low teacher/student ratios, a lead plus two assistants per class, ongoing training, and strong benefits including health, vision, dental, and a matched 401K.

Qualifications

• Required ~ High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred ~ Associate's or CDA
• Previous infant experience preferred
• Texas DFPS requirements and background check
• Must lift/carry 30+ pounds
• Stand for long periods of time
• General computer proficiency

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum per NAEYC standards
• Collaborate on assessments, materials, and child skill development
• Support learning by implementing the lesson plan
• Communicate with families verbally and in writing
• Build positive relationships with parents and coworkers
• Serve as a positive role model for all the children
• Encourage language development through age-appropriate activities
• Active engagement with students and classroom participation
• Maintain organized and clean play-based classroom environment
