Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking an Assistant Ice Hockey Coach to assist the head coach with all duties of the program and advocate for student athletes. You will coach proactively during games and practices and may take on additional duties outside the season to prepare for the upcoming year.

The season begins in October 2026. Qualified candidates will hold CHSAA Certification or Colorado teaching credentials, possess fundamental hockey knowledge, and have experience with school-aged

Qualifications

• Valid CHSAA Certification, or Colorado Teaching Certificate/License.
• Fundamental knowledge of Hockey.
• Experience working with related school aged athletes/students.
• Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff.
• Current medical injury treatment course work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with all duties of the program.
• Proactive, responsible coaching during games and practices.
• Additional responsibilities outside the season to prepare may be necessary as well.
