City of Broken Arrow is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to assist the HR Director in leading the department, shaping policies, managing staff, and driving projects to support citywide objectives.
The role emphasizes supervising employees, policy recommendations, and program oversight for compensation, benefits, leave, and training, with safety-sensitive duties and regular collaboration with the legal team.

Under limited supervision, this position assists the Human Resources Director in managing and overseeing the Human Resources Department, including, but not limited to: supervising and managing employees, making policy and practice recommendations and decisions, and managing projects. Serves as the Human Resources Director in absence of the Human Resources Director.
This position performs duties deemed to be “safety sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, supplemented by five years of related experience in Human Resources, including at least three years managing employees; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Previous experience in municipal government is preferred. Possession of a valid Class D Driver’s License issued by the State of Oklahoma required.
Tasks involve the ability to exert minimal physical effort in sedentary work, typically involving some combination of balancing, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
