Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero seeks an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our luxury hotel team. The role leads a team of Room Attendants and House Attendants, coaching and scheduling daily workloads while maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and speaking English required; Mandarin is a plus.
• Minimum 2–4 years of housekeeping experience; luxury hotel preferred.
• Ability to cope with stress in a high-volume operation.
• Ability to prioritise and multitask; flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of Room Attendants and House Attendants responsible for cleaning and upkeep of a specific area; interviews, trains, schedules staff; conducts performance evaluations.
• Schedules daily work; monitors progress; inspects rooms; coaches staff to correct deficiencies; coordinates work orders; releases checkout rooms.
• Monitors supplies and cleanliness on guest floors; ensures standards are met; conducts tours and reviews schedules.
• Resolves guest complaints with hospitality and professionalism; handles inquiries about hotel services and hours of operation.
• Takes action on safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of guests and employees; responds to emergencies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Manages a team of Room Attendants and House Attendants responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel. Interviews, trains and schedules the staff. Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.
• Schedules work to be done daily, collects room and floor status sheets for assigned work areas. Monitors each Room Attendant’s daily progress. Inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met. When standards have been missed, brings employee back to room and coaches the employee on how to correct the deficiency. Coordinates work orders in assigned section. Follows up to be sure work is completed. Releases checkout rooms to be sold.
• Monitors the performance of House Attendants. Assures that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors. Checks cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets.
• Reviews and monitors schedules of staff under their responsibility. Frequently tours the hotel to ensure maintenance and upkeep. Monitors employee activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported and guest needs are being met.
• Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc. Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner. Interaction with guest will be in person and by phone.
• Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and employees when senior managers are not available. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

• Reading, written and oral proficiency in the English language is required. Mandarin is a plus.
• Viable candidates must have a minimum of one (2-4) years of housekeeping experience, luxury hotel preferred
• Must be able to cope with stress and work in a high-volume operation
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• High school education or equivalent experience is preferred
• Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
