Job summary

Embassy Suites Lubbock is seeking an experienced Hotel Assistant Chief Engineer to help lead the maintenance team, oversee daily repairs, safety checks, and equipment upkeep, and step in when the chief engineer is away.

You will supervise engineering staff, coordinate preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems, perform routine safety tests, and address guest room issues quickly to ensure guest satisfaction.

Job description

The hotel assistant chief engineer helps lead the maintenance team. They manage daily repairs, safety checks, and equipment upkeep. They also take charge when the chief engineer is away.

Staff Leadership: Supervise engineering workers, assign daily tasks, and help train team members.

System Maintenance: Check and fix HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems.

Preventive Care: Run scheduled checks on guest rooms, laundry gear, and kitchen tools.

Safety & Compliance: Test fire alarms, emergency generators, and life safety features.

Guest Service: Fix reported room issues quickly to keep guests happy.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on maintenance work, preferably in a hotel or large resort.

Skills: Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, and heating/cooling systems.

Education: High school diploma, GED, or trade school certification in a related technical field.

Physical Needs: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long hours, and work flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays.
