Job summary

Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia is seeking a Designer to translate seasonal trends into innovative home product concepts. You will work closely with design leads to execute the creative vision across samples and presentations, while staying connected to the customer through humor and wit.

You will create detailed design briefs, present solutions to Design and Buying Teams, manage a seasonal workload, and collaborate with Buyers to build a cohesive product assortment that pushes the envelope

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of home hard goods, kitchen and room decor.
• Graphic design applications.
• Knowledge of construction details and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to bring humor to the customer through art layers.
• Create detailed product specifications for vendors.
• Strong computer skills: AI, Photoshop, Illustrator, SolidWorks.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with design, buying and production.
• Respond to business objectives with creative design solutions.
• Manage workload efficiently.
• Research and report on industry trends, color directions, materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creation of innovative design solutions.
• Prepare detailed briefs for new product development.
• Present design solutions to Design and Buying Teams.
• Respond to critique with an open mind.
• Manage workload assigned by the Designer seasonally.
• Develop chase product aligned with seasonal trends.
• Collaborate with Designer and Buyers to build cohesive assortment.
• Attend follow-up meetings and manage workload.
• Communicate with Buyers, Design Coordinator and Production team.
• Research materials, processes and fabrics globally and domestically.
• Stay current on department, URBN brand and initiatives.
• Research and present new product and trend ideas each season.
