Job summary

The Camas School District is seeking an assistant gymnastics coach for Camas High School for the Winter Season 2026-27. This role focuses on developing training programs, leading practices, and supporting athletes across skill levels to reach personal bests.

Responsibilities include organizing practices, promoting sportsmanship, monitoring progress, and coordinating with parents and staff. A First Aid/CPR certificate is required or obtained upon hire; stipend provided.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate assistant gymnastics coach for Camas High School. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, connect well with kids, and have high school coaching experience. This role involves developing training programs, managing team dynamics, and promoting the physical and mental well-being of all participants. The coach will work closely with athletes of various skill levels, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their personal best.

Duties
  • Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of the team.
  • Conduct regular practices, ensuring that all athletes receive appropriate instruction and feedback.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
  • Monitor athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills.
  • Manage behavior effectively during practices and competitions, employing behavior management techniques as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and other stakeholders regarding progress and expectations.
  • Organize competitions and events, ensuring all logistical aspects are handled efficiently.
  • Stay current with trends in sports coaching, physical education, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to create a comprehensive athletic program.
Experience
  • Previous experience coaching gymnastics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and motivate athletes of all ages.
  • First Aid/CPR card required or obtained upon hire.
