Pay Range

This range is provided by Greater Philadelphia YMCA. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $16.00/hr

We are seeking an experienced professional passionate about working with children, connecting with the community, and having fun! Specific childcare site will be determined during the interview process, with options including:

• A.L. Fitzpatrick Elementary School
• John Hancock Elementary School
• Northeast Family YMCA
• Stephen Decatur Elementary School

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or enrollment in 2+ years of child development coursework
• 2+ years verified childcare experience
• Experience working with children (professional, volunteer, or familial)
• Passion for working with children in diverse environments
• Ability to pass all relevant background checks and maintain required trainings, including 6 hours of child care-related training annually

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate activities to foster children's learning and self-esteem
• Implement curriculum and oversee classroom staff as needed
• Maintain positive interactions with children, parents, and guardians, including effective communication and timely updates
• Manage attendance records, emergency contact information, allergy reports, and other documentation accurately and timely
• Ensure learning environments are well-organized with quality materials
• Participate in team meetings and planning sessions
