Job summary

Family Service Association, headquartered in Fall River, MA, is hiring an Assistant Group Leader for the After School Day Care program. The position is part-time, 12.5 hours weekly with a $16.50 hourly rate (3:00 pm–5:30 pm, Mon–Fri), and up to 35 hours per week during summer and school vacations.

The role involves supervising children, supporting activities, maintaining spaces, and collaborating with staff. CORI/SORI and fingerprint background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and work under supervision of a Group Leader.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or currently enrolled in HS program.
• Must pass CORI/SORI and fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and support a safe, positive program environment.
• Assist with implementing planned daily activities and transitions.
• Help prepare materials and maintain organized spaces.
• Assist in daily site setup and take down.
• Maintain equipment and daycare property.
• Communicate significant behaviors to the Group Leader.
• Assist with incident and accident documentation as needed.
• Work with team to fill out goal sheets and charts.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.

Our After School Day Care program is looking to fill a part time (12.5 hours per week) position of Assistant Group Leader.The hourly rate is $16.50 hoursare Monday through Friday 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. & up to 35 hours per week in summer and vacation weeks (based on FRPS & program needs).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise children and support a safe, positive program environment at all times.
• Assist with implementing planned daily activities and transitions.
• Help prepare materials and maintain organized program spaces
• Assist in daily site setup and take down.
• Maintain equipment and daycare property.
• Communicate significant behaviors to the Group Leader.
• Assist with incident and accident documentation as needed.
• Work cooperatively with team members filling out goal sheets and charts.
• Attend staff meetings and training as required.
• Build positive relationships with children and encourage participation.
• Maintain a professional and respectful approach with children, families and staff

Experience Required:

• The Assistant Group Leader must be at least 16 years of age and work under the direct supervision of a Group Leader.
• An Assistant Group Leader must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent or be currently enrolled in a high school program or equivalent; or be at least 18 years of age or over and work under the general supervision of the Group Leader.

**Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/SORI and fingerprint background check.**
