Job summary

Miami University is seeking an Assistant Group Ice Skating Instructor to support the Learn to Skate program. This role targets an undergraduate student within the Department: Goggin Student Figure Skating and focuses on basic technique instruction and fostering enjoyment of skating.

Responsibilities include leading 2–3 classes per week for 1 to 1.5 hours, guiding progression, and ensuring student safety and engagement while mentoring participants and supporting department needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of competitive ice skating experience.
• Deep understanding of ice skating fundamentals and techniques.
• Certification at Juvenile Freestyle level or above by USFS.
• Proof of level certification by USFS.
• Ability to work independently and provide support for departmental services.
• Completion of an Ohio fingerprinted background check.

Job Summary

Instruct basic skating techniques to levels within the Learn to Skate program and foster appreciation for skating among participants. This position is integral to the program’s success.

• Experience instructing Learn to Skate classes.
