Job summary

Blain’s Farm & Fleet in Myrtle Beach, SC is hiring a Grooming Assistant to greet customers, schedule grooming appointments, and help bathe, brush, and dry pets. You will work under the Groomer and Salon Manager to ensure safety and industry standards.

Ideal candidates have good communication, retail or grooming experience, and the ability to work evenings and weekends; background checks are required. Benefits are offered after start.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Prior retail or grooming experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and at least every other weekend.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and schedule grooming appointments.
• Answer questions and assist with pet intake.
• Bathing, brushing, drying pets; prep for grooming.
• Maintain salon cleanliness and safety; support groomers and salon manager.
• Assist in retail tasks and cashier duties as needed.

Compensation

• Saturday & Sunday weekend premium pay $2.50/hr
• Base pay up to $15.00/hr

Job Duties

Assist customers scheduling appointments, answering questions, and bathing, brushing, and drying pets.This can include, but is not limited to:

• Greet customers and receive in pets for appointments
• Schedule appointments for grooming
• Ensure wellness and safety of pets
• Prep dogs for grooming:
  • Bathing, drying, and brushing
  • Ear cleaning
  • Nail trimming
• Perform routine cleaning of salon
• Assist in shop/self-service area as needed
• Perform Retail Cashier duties
• Work under the direction and guidance of the Groomer and Salon Manager to ensure they are performing duties safely and up to Blain’s and industry standards
• Demonstrate awareness and compliance with Loss Prevention and safety policies and/or procedures
• Keep work area neat and orderly

Qualifications

• Great communication skills
• Prior Retail/Grooming experience preferred
• Able to work evenings when needed and at least every other weekend
• Able to pass a background check
