Job summary

Orangeburg Country Club in Orangeburg, SC seeks a motivated Assistant Golf Professional to join our private facility. The role supports all facets of golf operations, delivers premier member and guest service, and advances professional development within a collaborative team.

You will assist with tournaments, instruction, and day-to-day golf activities. The successful candidate will bring PGA interest or certification, 2–3 years of experience, and a customer-focused approach to improve every

Qualifications

• Class A PGA member in good standing preferred, but not required.
• 2–3 years of experience as an Assistant Professional.
• Experience in all facets of golf operations including employee management, merchandising and inventory control, and tournament operations.
• Knowledge of typical golf course procedures and Golf Shop opening/closing procedures.
• Proficiency in Golf Genius tournament software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Golf Professional with planning, promoting, and directing all daily golf activities.
• Communicate and build relationships effectively with members and staff.
• Manage tee time reservations, including member and guest play, tournament scheduling, and special events.
• Oversee and manage the Outside Services Staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and directing work.
• Administer and enforce all club rules and regulations, including pace of play.
• Play golf with members of all skill levels.
• Participate in continuing education, training, and certification programs to stay current on golf instruction, merchandising and industry trends.
• Represent the club at professional golf events and maintain PGA membership and/or certifications.
• Provide golf instruction through lessons and clinics.
• Assist with all aspects of tournament operations with club tournaments and outside events.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Perform other duties as required.
