Job summary

The Refuge Golf Course in Flowood, MS, seeks a full-time Assistant Golf Professional. You will assist in golf shop operations, manage POS and billing, promote club activities, and help with outings and merchandising.

The role includes training responsibilities and maintaining shop standards. Ideal candidates have an AA degree or 6 months+ related experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office and tee-time systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering all POS revisions for green fee sales, merchandise, and billing.
• Reconcile daily tee sheets, process payments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Promote all club golf activities and maintain a clean, well-stocked shop.
• Assist with procurement, merchandising, and shop team support.
• Prepare for golf outings: scorecards, rules sheets, pairing sheets, and related materials.
• Support training of associates and promote safe work practices.

Job description

The Refuge Golf Course, located in Flowood, MS, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Assistant Golf Professional! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in administering all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing. Coordinates with Accounting Departments on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as they apply to duplicate charges and overpayment or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
• Promotes all club golf activities.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists the retail buyer with procurement and merchandise, and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
• Prepares for all golf outings, including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
• Assists with associate training.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill:

• Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with computerized POS and tee time systems.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree (AA); or six months to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch.
• Frequently required to use hands and reach with arms.
• Frequently required to talk, listen, taste, or smell.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.

Noise level is moderate.
