Job summary

The Refuge Golf Course, part of Troon, in Flowood, MS, seeks a full-time Assistant Golf Professional to support golf operations and member experiences. You will assist with POS, tee times, and merchandising while promoting club activities.

Applicants should have an AA or related experience, and be ready to engage in training, customer service, and golf shop duties in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA) or 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training
• Basic understanding of POS and tee time systems
• Strong customer service and golf operations knowledge

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering POS revisions for green fee, merchandise, and billing.
• Reconcile tee sheets, process payments, and handle discrepancies.
• Promote club golf activities to members and guests.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked golf shop and assist with merchandising.
• Prepare for golf outings: scorecards, labels, rules sheets, etc.
• Assist with associate training and safety practices.
• Maintain regular attendance and reliability.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Refuge Golf Course, located in Flowood, MS, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Assistant Golf Professional! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in administering all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing. Coordinates with Accounting Departments on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as they apply to duplicate charges and overpayment or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
• Promotes all club golf activities.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists the retail buyer with procurement and merchandise, and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
• Prepares for all golf outings, including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
• Assists with associate training.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill:

• Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with computerized POS and tee time systems.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree (AA); or six months to one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch.
• Frequently required to use hands and reach with arms.
• Frequently required to talk, listen, taste, or smell.
• Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

Environment/Noise:

• Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Noise level is moderate.
