Job summary

Lookout Mountain Golf Club in Lookout Mountain, GA, seeks an Assistant Golf Professional to support the Head Golf Professional in all daily operations. The role emphasizes member service, tournament administration, retail, instruction, and leading the outside service team.

The ideal candidate is PGA Class A or actively enrolled, with 1–3 years of private-club experience, strong communication, and flexibility to work weekends and long hours.

Qualifications

• PGA Member (Class A) or active Associate enrolled in the PGA PGM Program.
• 1-3 years of golf operations experience at a private club.
• Proficiency in Golf Genius, POS/Tee Sheet, GHIN, and launch monitors (TrackMan, FlightScope, or Foresight).
• Outstanding verbal and written communication with a professional demeanor on the lesson tee and in the shop.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and extended seasonal hours as operational demands dictate.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an ambassador of Lookout Mountain Club, welcoming members and guests with warmth and prompt, personalized service.
• Manage daily tee sheet flow, member check-ins, guest tracking, and cart fleet assignments.
• Enforce club policies, pace-of-play standards, and golf etiquette across the course and practice areas.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures for the golf shop and associated facilities.
• Coordinate and execute member tournaments, club championships, interclub matches, and private outings from setup through scoring.
• Utilize Golf Genius Tournament Management to build pairings, scorecards, rules sheets, flight formats, and live scoring portals.
• Manage event communications, prize funds, tournament billing, and credit books.
• Assist with retail operations within the Golf Shop, including receiving, ticketing, displaying, and restocking soft goods and equipment.
• Assist members with custom club fitting, special orders, and product knowledge.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory audits and POS reconciliation.
• Conduct private lessons, group clinics, and short-game workshops for men, women, and junior golfers of all skill levels.
• Actively support and instruct within the club's Junior Golf camps and PGA Junior League programs.
• Utilize modern launch monitor and fitting technology to provide custom club recommendations.
• Supervise and mentor outside service staff to ensure seamless execution from arrival to departure.
• Ensure the driving range, short game facility, and putting greens remain fully stocked, clean, and properly staged throughout the day.
