Job summary

Pin Placements is seeking qualified turf professionals for Assistant Golf Course Superintendent opportunities in Naples and Southwest Florida. As an Assistant Superintendent you will work with the Golf Course Superintendent to execute daily maintenance, course conditioning, irrigation management, and biannual renovation projects at high-quality private clubs and resorts in the region.

Opportunities may suit established Assistant Superintendents as well as AITs, Spray Technicians, Irrigation

Qualifications

• Experience in golf course maintenance and turfgrass management.
• Familiarity with warm-season grasses and Florida growing conditions is a plus.
• Leadership and communication skills for field supervision.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily golf course maintenance and course setup.
• Monitor turf health, moisture, pests, and disease; adjust plans accordingly.
• Assist with fertilizer, plant-protectant applications, and irrigation schedules.
• Support aerification, topdressing, verticutting, and other cultural practices.
• Provide direction to maintenance team and mentor staff.

About the Opportunity

Pin Placements is recruiting for Assistant Golf Course Superintendent opportunities in Naples and Southwest Florida.

We are looking for motivated turf professionals interested in advancing their careers with high-quality private clubs, resorts, and golf operations throughout the region.

Southwest Florida is home to some of the country's most respected golf facilities and provides an excellent environment for turf professionals looking to gain experience with warm-season turfgrass, intensive year-round maintenance programs, irrigation and water management, and high expectations for course conditioning and presentation.

Opportunities may be a fit for established Assistant Superintendents as well as AITs, Spray Technicians, Irrigation Technicians, Crew Leaders, and other experienced turf professionals ready for increased responsibility.

The Role

Assistant Superintendents work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and agronomy leadership team to execute daily maintenance and conditioning of the golf course.

Responsibilities may include:

• Coordinating daily golf course maintenance and course setup


• Monitoring turf health, moisture, disease, weeds, insects, and overall playing conditions


• Assisting with fertilizer and plant-protectant applications


• Managing irrigation schedules, troubleshooting, and repairs


• Supporting aerification, topdressing, verticutting, and other cultural practices


• Assigning work and providing direction to maintenance team members


• Training employees on equipment operation, maintenance practices, and safety


• Assisting with golf course renovation and improvement projects


• Maintaining application, maintenance, inventory, and agronomic records


• Working closely with the Superintendent to execute the property's agronomic plan


• Taking increased leadership responsibility as experience develops

Who We're Looking For

We are interested in candidates with experience in golf course maintenance, turfgrass management, agronomy, or related fields who want to continue developing their careers.

• Assistant Golf Course Superintendent


• Second Assistant Superintendent


• Assistant-in-Training (AIT)


• Spray Technician


• Irrigation Technician


• Crew Leader


• Senior Golf Course Maintenance Technician

A degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Golf Course Management, or a related field is preferred but not required for every opportunity.

Experience with warm-season turfgrass, irrigation and water management, pesticide and fertilizer applications, crew leadership, and Florida growing conditions is particularly valuable.
