Job summary

Desert Mountain Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to lead the agronomy team in maintaining premier golf courses in North Scottsdale. You will supervise maintenance crews, monitor playability, manage irrigation and record-keeping, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year turf certificate or 2 years of golf course experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year turf certificate or 2 years of golf course experience.
Valid driver’s license with no traffic violations in the last 3 years.
Supervise maintenance activities and monitor playing conditions to meet quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance facility and records.

Responsibilities

Perform, plan, and supervise routine maintenance (greens, cups, setup, bunkers).
Assign equipment to teammates and ensure proper use and storage.
Stage equipment for the next day and coordinate with mechanics for maintenance.
Monitor moisture, green speed, and clipping yield on greens and report conditions.
Apply fertilizers and plant protectants following safety rules and labels.
Keep records of maintenance activities and chemical applications.
