Job summary

Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The role partners with the Superintendent to maintain top-quality playing conditions on an 18-hole course designed by Rees Jones.

Qualifications include 1–2 years in golf course maintenance, a two-year agronomy-related degree (preferred), and pesticide licensing or the ability to obtain within 60 days. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000+ with Invited benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of golf course maintenance experience.
• Two-year degree in Agronomy or related field preferred.
• VA Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
• Team-oriented, professional, and detail-focused.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of golf course maintenance operations.
• Perform pesticide and fertilizer applications.
• Manage water on L93 bentgrass greens.
• Participate in hiring, training, and development of staff.
• Ensure team follows OSHA, club, state, and federal safety guidelines.
• Supervise staff and manage daily schedules.
• Maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems.
• Maintain accurate regulatory records and ensure compliance.
• Communicate effectively with members, staff, and guests.
