The Opportunity:

We're seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Superintendent to join our dedicated golf course maintenance team. As an Assistant Superintendent, you'll be instrumental in the daily management of our beautiful golf course and its surrounding property. Working closely with our Golf Course Superintendent, you'll assist with planning and executing maintenance tasks and special projects. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain invaluable experience and mentorship, with plenty of opportunities to grow and advance your career in turfgrass management.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for golf course management. If you're someone who loves to roll up their sleeves, take on new challenges, and has a desire to eventually become a Golf Course Superintendent, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Dive right into the day-to-day operations, helping to maintain pristine greens, fairways, bunkers, water hazards, and more.
• Work directly with the Superintendent to plan and execute maintenance schedules, projects, and improvements.
• Learn and execute the current agronomic plan, ensuring the highest quality turf management practices.
• Build strong relationships with the team, get to know each member's strengths, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Get familiar with course maps, irrigation layouts, and any upcoming renovation projects.

What We Need From You:

• Degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred, but not required
• At least 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance, ideally with cool season turf.
• A solid understanding of the game of golf and the principles of agronomy.
• Leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team of passionate individuals.
• Hands-on experience with golf course maintenance equipment and irrigation systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills-both verbal and written.
• A Pesticide Application license is preferred, but we can help you obtain it if needed.
• Most importantly: A willingness to learn and grow in the turfgrass management industry with a goal of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: $62,500 - $72,500, based on experience.
