Job summary

Bernalillo Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Golf Coach for our high school program. You will assist the Head Coach in planning practices, coaching fundamentals, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork among student-athletes.

The role requires reliable availability for practices, matches, and tournaments, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to pass a background check. Prior golf or coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous golf, coaching, or competitive golf experience preferred.
• Knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and etiquette preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with high school students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Must be dependable and available for practices, matches, tournaments, and other scheduled activities, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting practices, matches, tournaments, and team activities.
• Provide instruction on golf fundamentals, techniques, rules, etiquette, and course management.
• Supervise and support student-athletes during practices, matches, tournaments, and team activities.
• Assist with preparing student-athletes for competition and developing individual skills.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, academic responsibility, and positive team culture.
• Monitor student-athlete safety and ensure compliance with applicable athletic policies and procedures.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, transportation, tournament preparation, and other program needs.
• Maintain positive and professional communication with student-athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, and school staff.
• Follow all district, school, athletic department, and NMAA policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Coach or Athletic Director.
