Job summary

Big Grove Brewery in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead guest experiences and daily operations across the taproom. The AGM partners with the Store Director to drive hospitality, coaching, and disciplined standards that protect quality, culture, and profitability.

The role emphasizes leading by example on the floor, developing FOH teams, managing labor and costs, and ensuring events run smoothly while maintaining exceptional service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven success in a high-volume, multi-unit restaurant/hospitality environment.
• Strong ability to analyze data, diagnose issues and suggest improvements accordingly.
• Experience managing 50+ employees and driving revenue/profitability objectives.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the restaurant with highest standards to ensure a fantastic guest experience.
• Lead from the front during shifts, set pace, reinforce Big Grove standards.
• Communicate daily priorities and goals to the team with clear direction.
• Develop, train, coach, and recognize FOH teammates in Big Grove values.
• Manage FOH labor, inventory, and COGS, and drive profitability and sales.
• Foster cross-department collaboration across FOH, BOH and leadership.
• Lead or support on-site events with strong execution and guest experience.
• Participate in location leadership meetings and drive continuous improvements.
