Job summary

Convive Brands is seeking an Assistant General Manager for Le Pain Quotidien in Merrifield, VA. This hands-on leadership role reports to the General Manager and drives exceptional hospitality, team development, and operational excellence on the floor and across shifts.

You will balance service with financial results, recruit and coach a high-performing team, and ensure brand standards while growing toward future GM opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience in a full-service restaurant, hospitality group, or comparable environment.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a proven ability to lead from the floor during service.
• Track record of building strong restaurant cultures where people feel valued, supported, challenged, and accountable.
• Strong instincts for guest experience and service excellence, with the ability to coach teams toward high standards.
• Experience managing labor, sales, COGS, inventory, forecasting, and P&L performance.
• Growth mindset and desire to progress toward General Manager-level leadership.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• NYC Food Handlers License required to be considered; Spanish, French, or Arabic a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, staying engaged during service and coaching in the moment.
• Own the guest experience and resolve concerns with empathy and urgency.
• Develop people and build a culture where the team feels valued and motivated.
• Partner with the GM to recruit, hire, onboard, and retain a high-performing team.
• Lead and coach restaurant leaders through opening, service, and closing shifts.
• Own labor deployment during service, balancing guest experience and productivity.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and safety.
• Collaborate on inventory, food cost, waste, ordering, and COGS to improve performance.
• Contribute to P&L through sales, labor, and other metrics; step in for GM when needed.
