Nickerson High School is seeking an Assistant Girl's Wrestling Coach to join our athletic program. This full-time position emphasizes developing student-athletes, technical wrestling skills, and competitive spirit.

You will assist the head coach with practices, competitions, and safety protocols, mentor players in academics and personal growth, and participate in events, clinics, and recruitment as needed. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required; travel for competitions may be

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching wrestling at high school or collegiate level is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules and training methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to motivate student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, athletes and parents.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred or to be obtained within a specified timeframe.
• Commitment to academic success and personal growth of student-athletes.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel for competitions.

Responsabilités

• Assist the head coach in planning and implementing training sessions, practices, and competitions.
• Provide instruction on wrestling techniques, strategies, and conditioning to enhance athletes' performance.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
• Monitor and evaluate athletes' progress, providing constructive feedback and support for skill development.
• Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and prepare for competitions.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting the benefits of the wrestling program.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team policies and expectations.
• Assist in organizing team events, fundraising efforts, and community outreach programs.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay current with best practices in coaching and athlete development.
