Job summary

Port Angeles High School in the Port Angeles School District seeks an Assistant Girls Soccer Coach for the fall season. The coach will support both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, including skill development, match preparation, and program logistics.

Reporting to the Head Girls Soccer Coach and the JV Coach, you will help run practices and participate in season planning. The fall season runs Aug 24–Nov 21 with weekday practices and matches, plus potential Saturday events.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching soccer preferred.
• Knowledge of soccer fundamentals, rules, tactics, and sportsmanship.
• Ability to plan and execute effective practice sessions, technical instruction, and tactical strategies under the direction of the Head and JV coaches.
• Strong communication with Head Coach, JV Coach, athletic department, student-athletes, and parents.
• Availability to commit to weekday practice/match schedules and occasional Saturday events (Aug 24–Nov 21).
• Willingness and ability to drive district vans and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must meet district driver clearance requirements and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head and JV coaches in fulfilling the 11 core duties.
• Provide safe, current, and effective instruction on soccer technique, rules, and strategies.
• Maintain supervision of student-athletes on the field and during team travel.
• Drive district vans to away games in compliance with transportation policies.
• Log match results, injuries, and administrative documentation.
