Job summary

Morrow Middle, part-time Assistant Girls Basketball Lay Coach (Non-Certified), part of Clayton County Public Schools, is seeking an energetic coach to assist the Head Coach with coaching K-12 secondary school athletes. The role focuses on core movement, sport-specific skills and supervision as assigned.

Candidates must complete GHSA 'Prepare/ First Aid' and 'Principles for Coaching' exams within three months of class date and meet age, rules knowledge, and teamwork standards.

Qualifications

• GHSA coaching exams must be completed within three (3) months of class date.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Understand and follow GHSA rules and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and coaches K-12 students on fundamentals of sports.
• Assist Head Coach with setting rules, policies, and regulations for the team.
• Assist Head Coach with equipment and coordinating try-outs.
• Assist Head Coach with practice scheduling and supervision of athletes.
• Encourage students to pursue sport participation appropriate to their abilities.
• Collaborate with school staff and partners to monitor impact and promote healthy lifestyles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
