Compass Group USA is hiring an Assistant General Manager for Spelman College to support the General Manager in meeting client expectations and budget targets. The role requires overseeing safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs while leading a diverse team across departments.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of upscale food service experience, strong leadership, budgeting, and HACCP knowledge, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five to seven years upscale food service experience, including one year multi-unit management.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of HACCP controls and proper food storage/usage.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications for reports and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Interviews, hires, trains and coaches employees and managers.
• Maintains food cost while ensuring quality standards.
• Manages purchasing and inventory controls.
• Ensures HACCP controls and proper food storage.
• Reviews procedures to improve service, performance, and safety.
