Job summary

Goldfish Swim School in New York is seeking an Assistant General Manager - Sales to support the General Manager in running a welcoming, enrollment-driven swim school. You’ll connect with families on the phone and in person, supervise daily operations, and coach the Front Desk team to excel in sales and customer service growth.

This role emphasizes people-first leadership, strong communication, and the ability to coach and develop staff, hit enrollment goals, and build community partnerships

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in customer service, sales, or team support.
• Must obtain Lifeguard Certification through Goldfish Swim School.
• Availability for evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Greet every member and family warmly at arrival and departure.
• Oversee the first day swimmer process: wristbands, tours, lane walks, and follow up.
• Own daily enrollment goals—calling, texting, and following up on leads.
• Track lead pipeline, conversion rates, and enrollment trends; provide insights to the GM.
• Coach Front Desk staff through side‑by‑side support and regular feedback.
• Plan monthly community events and build local partnerships.
• Serve as the Manager on Duty during assigned shifts; oversee operations.

Job Title: Assistant General Manager - Sales

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

• Mandarin or Spanish-speaking ability preferred to support our Mandarin and Spanish-speaking customer base.

Summary:

The Assistant General Manager - Sales supports the General Manager in running a smooth, welcoming, and enrollment-driven swim school. This is a people-first role - you'll spend your days connecting with families on the phone and in person, keeping daily operations running at a high standard, and coaching the Front Desk team to excel in sales and customer service growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet every member and family warmly at arrival and departure, serving as a welcoming presence for the school.
• Keep the facility clean, organized, and always ready for customers.
• Oversee the first day swimmer process: wristbands, tours, lane walks, and follow up.
• Own daily enrollment goals — calling, texting, and following up on leads, and holding the Front Desk team accountable to
  same standard.
• Track lead pipeline, conversion rates, and enrollment trends — and bring actionable insights and recommendations to the GM,
  not just the numbers.
• Handle common objections and coach the Front Desk team to do the same with confidence.
• Coach Front Desk staff through side‑side support, regular feedback, and formal performance evaluations — issuing
  corrective action when needed and making hiring recommendations to the GM.
• Plan monthly community events and build local partnerships.
• Serve as the Manager on Duty during assigned shifts - responsible for the full operation of the school, stepping in across aquatics, front desk, and facilities wherever the team needs support and ensuring every area is running at the Goldfish standard.

What We’re Looking For:

• A natural communicator - comfortable on the phone and in person with families.
• Comfortable learning new software (we'll train you on our systems).
• Organized, dependable, and proactive about following through.
• 1-2 years in a customer service, sales, or team support role.
• Required to obtain a Lifeguard Certification through Goldfish Swim School, if not already.
• Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
