Job summary

Sheraton Pentagon City, an HEI Hotels & Resorts property in Arlington, seeks an energetic Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager and drive daily hotel operations, guest service excellence, associate engagement, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on leader with strong business acumen, excellent communication, and a passion for developing people who can lead by example and ensure outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of management experience, preferably in both Rooms and F&B.
• Computer literacy and financial management experience required.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
• Able to resolve guest, supervisor, and associate conflicts.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all operational managers to success on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual action plans related to property strategic plan.
• Plan and participate in hotel and departmental meetings; ensure compliance with brand standard operating procedures.
• Develop and manage execution of Rooms/F&B budgets and revenue forecasts; implement controls for expense management.
• Interview, hire, train, develop, evaluate performance, resolve problems, and manage discipline when appropriate.
• As a member of the Executive Committee, help create and execute the hotel’s financial objectives.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The Opportunity

As Assistant General Manager, you will serve as a key strategic partner to the General Manager, providing leadership and oversight of daily hotel operations while driving service excellence, operational efficiency, associate engagement, and financial performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all operational managers to success on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual action plans related to property strategic plan.
• Plan, organize, facilitate, attend, and/or participate in various hotel and departmental meetings. *Ensure compliance of brand standard operating procedures and policies.
• Develop and manage execution of Rooms/Food and Beverage division budgets and revenue forecasts. Develop and implement controls for expense management, such as utilizing labor management tools.
• Interview, hire, train, develop, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate of staff members.
• As a member of the Executive Committee for the property, the Assistant General Manager is expected to help create and execute the financial objectives of the hotel.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
