Good Day Farm is seeking an Assistant General Retail Manager to support the Retail General Manager in daily store operations, staff leadership, inventory control, opening/closing procedures, and customer service excellence in a licensed cannabis environment.

The role emphasizes training, scheduling, cash handling, compliance with regulations, merchandising, promotions, and building a positive team culture while ensuring safe, compliant, and profitable store performance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in a leadership position in retail, hospitality, service, or cannabis.
• Cannabis industry experience preferred.
• Must be able to clear a background check.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; people management.
• Positive attitude and flexibility.
• Experience in cash and inventory management.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff training and development; assist in hiring and team management.
• Set staff schedules and assist in payroll targets.
• Maintain store culture and lead by example.
• Meet revenue and sales targets with daily leadership.

• Oversee inventory processes and loss prevention.
• Oversee daily opening/closing, cash handling, and till procedures.

About the Role:

The Assistant General Retail Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the overall management and operations of the retail facility. This position requires a combination of leadership, operational expertise, and a strong understanding of the cannabis industry and its regulatory landscape. This role reports to the Retail General Manager and is subject to change.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Team and Leadership

• Lead staff training and development, assist in hiring and team management, conduct employee reviews, build staff schedules, and assist the General Manager in meeting payroll expectations
• Be a cultural leader for all team members and lead by example to meet company culture goals and expectations
• Lead and assist in staff coaching and setting standards of success for every team member

Revenue and Business Leadership

• Lead and assist the General Manager in meeting all revenue and sales expectations with holistic management practices, staff training, and customer relations
• Effectively communicate sales goals, promotions, and business expectations with staff on a daily basis
• Build meaningful relationships with customers and lead by example for team members in developing a culture of customer service
• Participate in competitive analysis and be a champion of the business
• Manage all inventory processes and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and prevent loss

Logistics

• Lead and assist in daily store opening and closing duties, such as cash management procedures, inventory reconciliation, and all processes related to operating the day-to-day business
• Assist the General Manager in all management-related responsibilities and day-to-day functions
• Manage all in-store cash flow: till setting, cash handling, and cash depositing
• Work with the General Manager to ensure adequate upkeep of the store: supply ordering, cleaning, and general housekeeping practices
• Be a front line of maintenance for the facility by actively communicating needs and fixes

Inventory Management

• Lead and assist in creating a culture of compliance through staff training, self-education,
• and adherence to all compliance requirements
• Lead and assist in all inventory processes: intake, invoice management, organization, selling, and staff training and development
• Prioritize shelf stocking and keeping online menus accurate at all times of the day through routine and development adherence
• Work with the General Manager to track critical stocking needs

Customer Experience

• Lead and assist in all in-store Visual Merchandising of products on the sales floor, as well as lead training and expectations of the customer journey as it relates to Visual Merchandising
• Effectively communicate the promotion calendar to staff and customers, as well as manage communication with systems and marketing teams to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
• Effectively communicate the pop-up and events calendar to staff and customers, as well as manage communication with systems and marketing teams to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
• Lead and assist all Loyalty program-related needs and initiatives with staff and customers
• Lead and assist in all customer experience initiatives that build value and loyalty

General

• Meet any and all other leadership requirements as they are related to high levels of leadership
• Be an adaptable leader and have a high level of communication with leadership and store staff alike
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Have at least 1 year in a leadership position in retail, hospitality, service, or cannabis related industries
• Cannabis industry experience preferred
• Must be able to clear a background check
• Strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated capability in people management and culture building

• Demonstrated experience in cash and inventory management
