Salt & Straw in New York City is seeking a Lead the Magic Assistant General Manager to partner with the GM in delivering outstanding guest experiences, guiding operations, and building a high-performing team in a fast-paced ice cream shop.

This full-time role offers $26.33–$28.10 per hour with a quarterly bonus potential, paid time off, health benefits, and a strong emphasis on community engagement and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of food service, fast-casual dining, or hospitality experience.
• 18+ months of progressive leadership experience.
• Led teams of 10+ Team Members in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to coach, develop, and support people with clarity and care.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with GM to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Plan daily schedules, task assignments, and team safety.
• Coach and mentor Team Members, Shift Coordinators, and Scoopers.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention.
• Manage cash, inventory, product quality, and food safety.
• Support payroll, shop communications, and daily documentation.
• Monitor labor and sales, contribute to P&L insights.
