Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Yorba Linda, CA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff, and deliver excellence in swim instruction and customer service. This in-person role focuses on safety, high performance, and a positive workplace culture.

You will work closely with the General Manager to schedule classes, track student progress, and support sales and marketing initiatives while fostering a fun and engaging environment for families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a management/supervisory position is required.
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, swim instructor, youth sports coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is required.
• Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.
• Enthusiastic, positive attitude and commitment to safety and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily school operations according to Goldfish Swim School’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support the General Manager and department managers with class scheduling, student progress tracking, and customer service.
• Lead and manage the team to ensure high performance, team morale, and exceptional service.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring new staff.
• Maintain a high standard of swim instruction and staff preparedness.
• Plan and lead staff events and employee engagement activities.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives.
• Help manage retail and vending areas, including inventory and pricing decisions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain pool operations, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Train and implement emergency procedures and oversee the Emergency Action Plan.
• Maintain current certifications and stay up to date on industry best practices.

IMPORTANT:

This position will train at our Santa Ana swim school through December 2026. Following the training period, the position will permanently transfer to our new location, currently under construction, at 20459 Yorba Linda Blvd., Yorba Linda, CA 92886.

Your Role: Assistant General Manager

You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the swim school, making sure everything runs safely, smoothly, and up to Goldfish standards. You’ll lead staff, support families, and keep the facility operating at a high level while fostering a fun and positive workplace culture.
