Job summary

Nassau Diner in New Jersey is seeking an Assistant General Manager. This is a full-time role with a requirement to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

You will oversee front-of-house operations, monitor inventory, train staff, handle reservations, and ensure health and safety compliance while supporting the General Manager. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of FOH restaurant experience, is team-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean, professional dining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of front-of-house restaurant experience.
• Willing to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform all duties of the Front Desk.
• Monitor and maintain store inventory pars.
• Maintain a very clean work environment.
• Monitor daily reservations and confirm by phone.
• Record deliveries and confirm accuracy.
• Coach and support new and existing staff.
• Handle customer reservations and requests by phone.
• Ensure employees follow company policies and guidelines.
• Set a professional example for staff; uphold health/safety rules.
• Support the General Manager as applicable.

Assistant General Manager

The Nassau Diner is seeking for an experienced and team-oriented candidate for the Assistant General Manager. This is a Full-Time position. Candidate must be willing to work weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.

Essential Functions

• Oversee and perform all duties of the Front Desk
• Monitor and maintain store inventory pars
• Maintain a very clean work environment
• Monitor daily reservations and make confirmation phone calls as appropriate
• Record all deliveries (paper, produce etc) and any errors
• Coach and support new and existing staff members
• Handle customer reservations and requests over the phone
• Make sure all employees follow company policies and guidelines
• Maintain professionalism and set an example for all staff
• Ensure diner is complying with health and safety regulations
• Support General Manager as applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• More than two years in FOH restaurant experience

• Bilingual in Spanish a plus, however, not required
