Job summary

Chicken N Pickle in North Kansas City is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the GM in directing operations across all departments. You will focus on execution, operational excellence, and developing the management team, stepping in for the GM when needed.

This role requires 3+ years in high-volume hospitality, strong leadership, and solid F&B knowledge. You will lead pre-shift meetings, coach staff, manage staffing and costs, and ensure brand standards and safety guidelines are met.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-service, high-volume restaurant or hospitality management experience.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a large team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong F&B knowledge and experience with safety and liquor regulations.

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is the \"right hand\" to the General Manager, playing a critical role in the daily success of the venue. You will support the GM in directing operations across all departments—Pickleball, Events, Catering, Kitchen, Service/Bar, Hospitality, and Community. Your primary focus is on execution, operational excellence, and developing the management team. You will act as the General Manager in their absence, ensuring brand standards and financial goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development:

• Embody Chicken N Pickle’s core values: Authenticity, Community, Connection, Integrity, and Quality.
• Partner with the GM to supervise, train, and mentor department managers and hourly supervisors.
• Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and termination processes for restaurant staff.
• Foster a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion while motivating the team to perform at a high level.
• Lead effective pre-shift meetings and manager huddles to ensure alignment on goals.

Operational Excellence:

• Coordinate and lead daily Front of the House, Pickleball, and Back of the House operations during scheduled shifts.
• act as the primary point of contact for guest recovery, handling complaints with efficiency and grace to maximize satisfaction.
• Enforce strict compliance with sanitation, safety regulations, and alcohol laws/guidelines.
• Execute policies and protocols established by the GM to maintain operational consistency.
• Perform in an active, fast-paced, indoor and outdoor venue, during inclement weather, holidays, weekends, and nights.
• Assist the GM in overseeing staffing levels, writing schedules, and managing labor costs.
• Manage inventory and ordering for assigned departments to control Cost of Goods (COGS) and reduce waste.
• Assist in the creation of weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Maintain and protect the facility, ensuring all equipment and property are in good working order.

Training & Brand Standards:

• Directly oversee the training of new and current employees, ensuring adherence to customer service practices.
• Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide real-time feedback to staff.
• Promote the brand by ensuring every guest experience reflects Chicken N Pickle standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of full-service, high-volume restaurant or hospitality management experience.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a large team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong food and beverage (F&B) knowledge.
• Detailed knowledge of Food Safety and liquor requirements.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with restaurant management software (HotSchedules, POS systems, inventory software).
• Financial Acumen: Understanding of P&L statements, labor control, and COGS management.
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business Administration preferred.
• Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
