Job summary

CAVU is seeking an Assistant General Manager at Bradley International Airport to lead front‑of‑house and kitchen teams, delivering outstanding guest experiences and operational excellence in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.

You will develop high‑performing teams, manage P&L, inventory, and compliance, and ensure security clearances while coordinating with partners across extended airport hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading hospitality, restaurant, retail, or catering teams.
• Proven ability to coach and motivate staff to deliver guest experiences.
• Strong business acumen with inventory, cost control, and financial performance.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergen management, responsible alcohol service.
• Experience managing high-volume F&B operations.
• Experience recruiting and performance management.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Location: Based at Bradley (BDL) Airport, Hartford, CT
• Employment Type: Full – time
• Hours: 40+
• Salary Range: $61,264.00 -$65,000 based on experience
• Schedule: Open availability required. While we aim to maintain a consistent weekly schedule, most shifts will be scheduled during mid-day and afternoon hours. Flexibility to support varying business needs is expected.

About the Role

As Assistant General Manager at the airport Escape Lounge you'll lead front-of-house and kitchen teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence. In this fast-paced, high-volume environment, you'll develop high-performing teams, drive business results, and ensure every guest receives outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a service-focused culture that delivers exceptional guest experiences, drives revenue and loyalty, maintains food and beverage standards, manages guest feedback, and ensures efficient daily operations.
• Support financial performance through effective P&L management, inventory control, waste reduction, cost management, vendor coordination, and clear communication of business results.
• Recruit, develop, coach, and engage high-performing team members while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with all company, health, safety, licensing, regulatory, and airport operational requirements.
• This role is based within a busy airport lounge serving departing passengers.
• The operation runs across extended airport opening hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance.
• You'll work in a fast-paced environment where exceptional hospitality and seamless guest service are essential.

You'll be a hands-on hospitality leader with experience leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, guest-focused environments. You thrive under pressure, lead by example, and understand how to balance operational excellence, team engagement, and business performance.

• 3+ years of experience in a hospitality, restaurant, retail, or catering leadership role (Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, or similar)
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Strong business acumen, including inventory management, cost control, and financial performance
• Knowledge of food safety, allergen management, responsible alcohol service, and operational compliance
• Experience managing high-volume food and beverage operations
• Skilled in recruiting, performance management, employee relations, and talent development
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing and moving throughout the operation for extended periods
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required airport security clearances
