Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license (NC TX)
• Reliable transportation.
• Previous customer service or leadership experience preferred.

At Strickland Brothers, our Assistant Shop Managers support daily operations while helping develop the next generation of technicians. This role is a key step in our career path, offering hands-on leadership experience and preparing high-performing team members for Shop Manager opportunities.

Assistant Shop Managers work alongside their team to deliver fast, friendly service while reinforcing standards, coaching employees, and supporting shop performance. They play a direct role in training and developing new hires to ensure consistent execution of the Strickland Brothers Way.

This position is paid weekly on an hourly basis and requires the ability to work up to 45 hours per week. Additional compensation includes performance-based incentives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Support the Shop Manager in leading, coaching, and developing team members.
• Provide real-time feedback and reinforce performance expectations.
• Lead by example in executing the Strickland Brothers Way and service standards.
• Assist in training new hires and developing technicians across Greeter, Hood, and Pit roles.

Customer Experience & Service Execution

• Ensure every customer receives the full Strickland Brothers Experience.
• Support service execution by working in Greeter, Hood, and Pit roles as needed.
• Address customer concerns and assist in resolving issues professionally.
• Reinforce service quality and customer satisfaction through team coaching.

Shop Operations & Workflow Management

• Assist in managing daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Assign technician roles and maintain efficient service flow.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Support execution of all operational processes and procedures.

Financial, Inventory & Administrative Support

• Assist with inventory management, including receiving, counting, and adjusting inventory.
• Support daily cash handling and deposit verification processes.
• Utilize company systems to process fleet services and manage shop operations.
• Help maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

Performance & Systems Utilization

• Utilize company reporting tools (e.g., Power BI dashboards) to support operational decisions.
• Monitor shop performance metrics and support the Shop Manager in achieving goals.
• Ensure proper use of company systems and communication tools.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license required (NC&TX)
• Reliable transportation required.
• Previous customer service or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
• Basic computer skills or the ability to quickly learn company systems.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, squat, and reach for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in an automotive service environment.
• Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary.
