Job description

The Padel Collective seeks a full-time Assistant General Manager to join the team on-site in Austin, TX. The AGM reports to the General Manager and is the GM’s second: the person who runs the club when the GM is off site, and the person who owns every reason a Guest comes to the Oasis beyond an hour of court time.

We’re looking for someone who runs a room, holds a run-of-show, and understands that a full calendar is what turns a padel facility into a lifestyle club people belong to.

Objectives
  • 1. Fill the calendar: Maintain and build an event calendar that runs year-round and sells out.
  • 2. Build the community: Turn first-timers into regulars and regulars into members. You know the names, you make the introductions, you notice who stopped showing up.
  • 3. Hold the standard: Every event and every shift you run looks and feels the way the Brand Book says it should, whether the GM is in the building or not.
  • 4. Maintain the café operator relationship: The café is run by a third party and it needs to run smoothly with you.
Responsibilities
  • Floor Presence: On the floor at peak and at every event. Greet Guests by name, set the tone of the room, run tours when a Host can’t. If something is off, you see it before a Guest does.
  • Events: Own execution of social events and private hires end to end. Sign-ups, run-of-show with a named owner on every line, vendor and staff coordination, setup, service, breakdown, debrief.
  • Team: Lead the Hosts and cleaning team. Scheduling, onboarding, shift-level coaching and accountability. Standards are clear and people want to stay.
  • Member Experience: Know members by name and by game. Handle feedback and service issues immediately. Courts, lounge, changing rooms and common areas always clean and ready.
  • Outreach & Partnerships: Run outreach, tours and coordination. Own the relationship so every partner event earns a repeat.
  • Programming: Support the Director of Padel on the recurring calendar — leagues, ladders, mixers, women’s and beginner nights, junior and member-only sessions. DOP builds the formats; you own execution on the floor and the social side of anything pairing padel with food or drinks.
  • Operations: Open and close, walkthroughs and checklists, booking oversight, maintenance follow-through, vendor communication. Hold and improve the SOPs. Report to ownership with numbers, not impressions.
  • Padel Inventory: Maintain and restock equipment and merchandise. Rentals and demos playable, reorder before anything runs out, suggest range improvements, drive sales.
What we're looking for:
  • Three or more years running the floor at a club, hotel, restaurant or event venue
  • You’ve planned and run events yourself, start to finish
  • You’ve led hourly staff, and they stayed
  • You’re organised: rotas, labour costs, checklists, the numbers behind a shift
  • You pick up new software fast — booking systems, POS, scheduling
  • You’re warm and clear with Guests, staff and owners alike
  • When something goes wrong mid-event, you stay calm and fix it
  • You’re happy running the building on your own
  • Padel knowledge and startup experience are a plus
  • TABC certification, or willing to obtain it on starting
  • First Aid, CPR and AED certification, or willing to obtain it on starting
Compensation and Perks
  • Total compensation of $60,000 – $78,000
  • Full-time employment, with a clear path to General Manager for consistent performers
  • Lifestyle perk: full club membership, unlimited sauna and barrel plunge access, staff discount on café and pro shop, and a branded gear package at sign-on

All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Employment verification and background checks are required upon hire.
