Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • 5+ years of legal experience; prior financial services legal experience required, with a solid understanding of health insurance and/or managed care industry preferred
  • Experience with regulatory agencies in the financial services and/or healthcare industries
  • Experience with contract management and commercial contract drafting
  • Knowledge of US and state legal requirements, with a focus on financial services and preferably, health care, regulatory requirements
  • Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of business problems related to assigned legal projects
  • Demonstrated to be well-developed written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts
  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bank/fintech partnerships
  • Experience with health benefit accounts
  • Experience with commercial B2B and/or B2B2C payment products
  • Understanding of health care benefit coverage and medical policy development
  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
