Job summary

MTF Biologics, Edison, NJ, seeks an Assistant General Counsel to support the General Counsel in protecting the organization’s legal interests. You will identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations, and ensure compliance across business units.

You will review, edit, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including sponsored research, development, distribution, supply/vendor, and licensing agreements.

Qualifications

• JD required
• 5–7 years experience in tissue banking, medical device or pharmaceutical companies
• Excellent communication skills
• Corporate generalist background with healthcare law
• Ability to work independently and with others, strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with computer platforms and applications
• Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provide general advice to senior management and managers on a day‑to‑day basis
• Draft, review, analyze, structure and negotiate contracts and internal policies
• Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulations and manage risk
• Develop understanding of the organization and its mission, stakeholders, and competitive landscape
• Ensure activities comply with legal requirements and internal policies
• Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries
• Oversee and direct company litigation
• Support special projects and travel as needed (some travel to Jessup PA)
