Job description

Withum is currently seeking an Assistant General Counsel that can be located remotely or in any of our offices nationwide. In this role, you will work directly with Withum’s General Counsel to assist with a wide variety of legal work ranging from contract management, licensing, and subpoena responses, to overseeing litigation, data privacy, and regulatory matters, to name a few.

How You’ll Spend Your Time
  • Draft, revise and negotiate engagement letters, master service agreements, and various other contracts with clients, vendors, and other third parties.
  • Analyze and negotiate various types of agreements to identify risk considerations and potential exposure to the firm. Work closely and collaboratively with General Counsel to develop and implement key legal processes and systems corporate wide, conduct legal research and analysis, and oversee clerical tasks as needed.
  • Interface with partners and team members to provide support on various contracts with clients and vendors.
  • Managing the firm’s response to subpoenas directly with third parties or through outside counsel.
  • Monitor and provide advice on laws impacting the profession, including, but not limited to privacy and data security requirements.
  • Additional ad hoc projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D from an accredited law school with 6-8 years of law firm experience preferred, litigation or prior in-house experience a plus.
  • Admission to state bar in good standing. Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Track record of establishing solid relationships, polished and highly personable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Document management software experience preferred.

The compensation for this position will be between $150,000-$200,000 annually. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
