KIPP is seeking a Sport Coordinator to oversee a specific team in accordance with MSHSAA standards. Responsibilities include organizing practices, ensuring the well-being of athletes, and fulfilling professional development requirements. Ideal candidates will be certified teachers or hold a valid substitute certificate, dedicated to promoting safety and sportsmanship in school athletics.
Coordinate a specific sport with a full team in compliance with MSHSAA standards.
Assist in implementing athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all MSHSAA required sessions.
Assist in the coordination of the program and supervision of students at practices and contests.
Provide information for transportation facilities officials and game management.
Organize and schedule practice sessions regularly to develop student-athletes' potential.
Emphasize safety precautions and be aware of training and injury management procedures.
Conduct team and self ethically during practices and contests, exemplifying high standards of sportsmanship.
Assist in the systematic return of all school equipment according to the Athletic Department Handbook.
Engage in professional growth through clinics and publications.
Must complete the MSHSAA / NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
Fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development annually.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Employed as a teacher or administrator in the school applying for the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION :
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using hands and fingers, reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting objects of at least 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
