Job Description

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the F&B Manager with the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets.
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team, particularly in performance management, motivation, and resource utilization.
  • Set the tone and standards for professional, knowledgeable, and friendly dining service.
  • Motivate and support staff in developing serving skills, food and wine knowledge, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Participate in planning and executing group events as a key member of the F&B team.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as purchase orders, staff scheduling, and timesheet review.
  • Communicate effectively within the department regarding daily dining operations.
  • Open and/or close the Dining Room, Twigg’s, Lewis Thompson Dining Room, and Wine Cellar as needed, ensuring all details and assets are prepared for service.
  • Oversee room arrangements and final setup with attention to detail.
  • Make quick, practical decisions balancing guest, staff, and company interests.
  • Assist with food and drink service and fill in various dining staff roles to maintain smooth service.
  • Ensure safety standards are maintained for guests and staff.
  • Monitor inventory and equipment, submit requisitions, and restock supplies.
  • Coordinate with Kitchen staff to review menus and address guest needs.
  • Manage guest relations, handle complaints, and work to resolve issues satisfactorily.
  • Anticipate and resolve service flow issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Assist with hiring, disciplinary actions, and collaborate with HR.
  • Inspect staff grooming and attire, addressing any deficiencies.

  • Flexibility in work schedule, including availability for opening/closing, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Information

Required Working Conditions include but are not limited to:

  • Fast-paced, physical environment with changing demands.
  • Desk work, frequent movement, reaching, bending, and stooping.
  • Travel and transporting materials, sometimes in adverse weather.
  • Regular lifting of 10-15 pounds; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Leadership and collaboration with team and other departments.
  • Variable shift hours, including weekends and holidays, with some emergency coverage.
